The biggest weekend in student TV!

We hosted National Student Television Awards in April 2025 - providing 70 students experience in a real world environment. The event saw 210 attendees, including students and industry guests throughout the weekend. The weekend included social events, an exhibition and networking breakfast as well as the main event, the Awards.
NOTHING BUT NET
In February 2024 we produced our most ambitious sports broadcast ever.
50+ students, 15 cameras, 2 galleries, 3 EVS, 4 feature VTs & Piero.

Our Story
SonarEVENTS is Southampton Solent University's student-run TV & Live Events society. Formed as a merger of Sonar TV & the Live Events Society in 2022, SonarEVENTS offers students real-world experience, no matter their level of experience. We aim to push the boundaries of whats possible and produce the next generation of industry talent..
